How To Be Unfuckable With — Eric Schleien
This is a post about how to be unfuckable with. I will create some context before we get into it.
Growing up in Florida as a kid, I used to care deeply about what people thought about me. I had a whole story about “nobody gets me” and about being “misunderstood”. This was when I was still on my bullshit and bankrupt healing journey.
However, then I realized that it was just part of life. There will be people who judge you and have adverse reactions to you. It’s literally never personal.
Where people get fucked up is when you don’t know yourself. When you know yourself at the deepest level at your core, you’re literally unfuckable with. Truly unfuckable with.
Wasted Energy
I used to spend so much of my time and energy trying to come off a certain way for people, trying to convince people that I was a certain way. Lots and lots of energy for ZERO results. And of course, all while feeling like garbage inside for not being true to my self. Not my identity but my actual fucking Self (capital S).
There will always be people with a commitment to not getting you. There will always be people who have a view so skewed about you that it’s just that, a view.
I have had people put me on a pedestal to a point it’s just totally not me to the point their compliments just leave me feeling gross. There are people who think I’m some nefarious terrible person. When I meet fuck tons of people, there have been those who just see what they want to see in me or not see in me.
At this point, it’s just not interesting.
Focus On Your Mission
My life is committed to expanding freedom on the planet for ALL people, no one left out. It’s really that fucking simple. Every action I take in my life is to contribute, to love, and to make a difference and forward one’s experience of themselves. And at the end of the day, that is ALL I can control.
The standard I hold myself to in my life is ALL I can control.
Holding myself out to an insane level of integrity in my life will still leave some people to think I’m a lying sack of shit.
Judgments
I can go above and beyond to be generous, kind, loving, caring, compassionate, and unwavering to the bone and there will STILL be people who think I am arrogant, unkind, selfish, narcissistic, mean, a liar, not caring, etc
When you see that people’s judgments are about as automatic as the wind, a lightning strike, or the temperature outside…it just fucking frees you up!
Be Great
Now go play…be great…and stop giving a fuck what people think. Focus on being awesome, having insanely high standards for yourself. Build character. Create tons of value. I highly recommend the TED talk on greatness.
And be on your deathbed knowing you gave your fucking all.
