Phase 3— Day 4| 75Hard Challenge

Today is Day 4 of Phase 3 of Andy Frisella’s 75Hard Program. For Phase 3 you must do the following every day for 30 days otherwise you have to start the entire year over again.

The critical tasks each day for 30 days are as follows:

  1. 2–45 minute workouts. One of them must be outdoors.
  2. Take a progress picture
  3. 10 pages of reading (non-fiction and hard copy)
  4. Drink 1 gallon of water
  5. Follow a diet
  6. No cheat meals or alcohol
  7. 5 minute cold shower
  8. Random Act of Kindness
  9. Conversation with a Stranger
  10. 8 Power List Critical Tasks

Here’s a summary of my day:

1st 45-minute workout: walked around Philadelphia

2nd 45-minute workout: was on the road so I walked around a parking lot and then went inside a planet fitness to finish up the workout

Random Act of Kindness: I spent the afternoon with a homeless man named Will. He had been on the street for 6 months. Will had open heart surgery and after getting out of the hospital his roommate lost his job due to COVID shutdowns and between medical bills and the loss of income of his roomie — he lost his apartment. He shared with me that the prior week he had been jumped by a bunch of teenagers and he woke up to them kicking him in the face while he was sleeping. Luckily, he was able to get medical assistance and get his teeth fixed up. The city has a program that goes around to all the homeless people and takes their contact info and helps them find housing so he’s on his way to finding housing and getting a job again. I treated him to Wendy’s and then wished him all the best and said goodbye. This also was my conversation with a stranger.
